August 17th Meeting:
Joel Coplin and Jo-Ann Lowney
Joel Coplin and Jo-Ann Lowney have been professional artists based in the Phoenix area for over 25 years. Their works are in collections here in the U.S. Mexico and abroad.
They have exhibited in many major venues in Arizona including the Phoenix Art Museum the Tucson Art Museum and The Scottsdale Center for the Arts.
Both Joel and Jo-Ann studied at the Art Students League of New York where they were exposed to the techniques, methods and materials of the Old Masters.
They will demonstrate and discuss contemporary portraiture by working from life as Joel paints Jo-Ann in the alla prima style.
Don't miss this dynamic duo as they explain their tonal palette, how to pose the model, composition and color theory.
