Don was Iowa born, California, Oregon and Washington raised.  He was a member of a very creative family, served in the US Navy throughout the Pacific, schooled in California and retired from Aerospace Engineering on the West Coast. 

He and his wife traveled the back roads of the US, Canada and Italy.  Being exposed to so many fascinating environments (landscapes, seascapes and wildlife), processes and ideas of family, friends, associates and educators has culminated in an unbelievable education and experiences.  Don has constantly called upon that education and those experiences while creating art for over 50 years.  With a burning desire to draw, paint and sculpt, his art portrays "fierce verses fragile", "peaceful and serenity" and "those seldom seen special characteristics which reveal the essence of nature".
